2000 Fender American Deluxe 5 string Precision Bass.
Second owner. Have owned it for about 10 years.
Bass is in great working condition. Bass looks good but definitely has some cosmetic issues and a couple mods. The maple neck is in good condition, truss rod fully functions. The front of the body is fairly clean aside from surface scratches from regular play and cleaning, that show up just a little more on black basses. The pickguard is not original, but is a factory replacement.
Now heres the more unusual part. On the back, there are numerous marks/dents/gauges that form a bad word and also a date of when it happened. Not sure on the history of that, but it is there and pretty obvious. I went the route of putting decals and such on the back to cover it up. Also used a black Scratch Pad Finish Protector(as seen in pic and will include) that solved the issue for me. There are some other random marks on the back. All just aesthetic.
When I bought the bass, it had EMG pickups and pre in it. I removed those and found on Talkbass a used set of AM Deluxe 5 pickups and EMG pre to put in. When the luthier was installing we found out the fit for the pre was not perfect so had to make a bit of room in the cavity and that push out the input a couple centimeters, but it is rock solid. The pre amp is volume, blend, bass/sweep, mid/treble. 18 volts. Thought I had gotten period correct electronics. But alas, no.
So this bass is still a killer Deluxe P, but is a players bass that is in used but excellent playing condition. It will come in a soft shell hard case.
I tried to put as many pics as possible so please take a good look!
