No, the neck on this NT5 is definitely wenge. If you refer to the serial number C 073771 00 (available in the back of the headstock pic, above), and plug it into the Warwick serial number lookup database (en/Framus---Support--Serial-Number.html this is what comes back:

Wenge and Ovangkol look very similar to me, but the neck on that thumb resembles the ovangkol neck on my old Warwick the most.

It definitely has a wenge fingerboard, but the neck looks like ovangkol to me....I have had both. I actually love the ovangkol necks. Lovely bass mate!

I have owned over 25 Warwick basses with both wenge & ovangkol necks. They have different grains and color. This bass definitely has the ovangkol neck with a wenge fingerboard. Very nice bass though! Should make someone very happy!

Not sure if the neck is ovangkol or wenge (probably ovangkol) but it sounds great nonetheless Bump.

I have a 6 string version of this bass from the transition time. Mine has an Ovangkol/bubinga neck with wenge board. They sound great and IMO not an appreciable difference from the sound of the all wenge necked thumb I owned. Nice bass and a good price.
