This bass is awesome!
This is a Fender FSR (Factory Special Run) from 2011. It was classified as a 75 Reissue Active Jazz Bass. This bass is in excellent cosmetic and playing condition. Frets show little to no wear, truss rod turns freely in both directions, and it sets up beautifully with low action. No dead spots or buzzing.
I have used this bass in a smoke free, climate controlled studio only. It has never been gigged. It's been my daily player for a while now, but I have a custom bass coming
in and something has to go.
Upgrades that I made to this bass:
1. I swapped out the preamp for an Audere Jazz Pre. This was a great upgrade and adds so much more dimension to the range of tones.
2. I swapped out the original pickups for Fender CustomShop pickups which have that classic Jazz bass tone.
For a short time, I ran the bass completely passive, so the bass will come with the passive controls and control plate for easy conversion to passive electronics.
