I owned a 4001 in my teens and have wanted another one for years. I bought this hoping to find the "Old Rickenbacker magic" of my youth. Bottom line is I am just not playing it enough to justify keeping it. I love to channel my inner Geddy, but I need to make room for something I will use.
Condition - Only dings are in the lower "point" on the back of the peghead (Photo) and 2 small nicks in the clearcoat on the neck (not visible in the photo). There are a few imperfections in the clearcoat on the body (I hear Rics are known for this) and small finish scratches on the back of the body associated with normal wear. One of the latches is broken on the case (Case included).
Mods - Bridge has been replaced with a Hipshot. The bass has a Hipshot droptuner and aftermarket plastic bezel on the bridge pickup. Strap buttons have been replaced with Schaller straplocks (included). The bridge pickup is a Classic amplification replacement. I have a Classic amplification front pickup that is currently not installed. The wiring is stock and is complete with the Push/pull tone control on the bridge pickup. The RickOsound jack does not work for some reason, (Read posts below)I never have used it and only plugged it in to check it before I put the bass up for sale. The "standard" jack works fine. I will include the factory bridge, the factory tuner for the 4th string, the factory strap buttons and the factory bridge pickup. I will also include the Classic amplification front pickup with a wiring harnees that is equipped with 500k pots and a single jack.
