SOLD - Modified Gibson Thunderbird

This bass has not been taken out by me but was previously gigged. Upon receipt the instrument was taken to a well known Detroit Guitar Tech Mike Koontz for set-up (Koontz Guitar Repair - Ferndale, Michigan - Musical Instrument Store, Automotive, Aircraft & Boat | Facebook)Truss rod is fully functional and string action is dialed in. Heavy thunderbird tone with a vintage twist! I would describe the sounds as P-bass like with lower lows and a bit more edge to the sound when cranked.

Asking $1400, shipped and packed via FedEx, lower 48 only. Paypal or VenMo payment accepted

Thanks for looking! Happy to answer any questions.

Is the 63 Thunderbucker the fatter sounding one or the single coil-ish pup? I assume more like the single coil one due to your description?

What's the weight on this gorgeous bass? It's a Bird, so not looking for an Ibanez Mikro, but hopefully not an RD either.

I would say its more single coil but in a precision bass kind of way. Leans a little bit more in the Fender direction with T-bird sound still lurking underneath.

According to my kitchen scale the weight is between 7lbs and 8lbs (Jumping between 7lbs 3oz and 7lbs 14oz due to the way the body leans on the scale.
