Up for sale is a beautiful Roscoe Century Standard 4 PJ in Transparent White. I can't say enough how incredible this bass (like all other Roscoe basses) plays and sounds. This is one of three other Roscoe basses I have. The action is insanely low and fretwork is impeccable.
Completed in July of 2014, I purchased this bass new from Rocket Music. It features the "Aguilar Vintage PJ" package which includes PJ pickups, an OBP-1 preamp, active passive switching and a passive tone control. With this setup you get the incredible playability and stunning good looks of a Roscoe instrument combined with a classic, vintage tone that everybody knows and loves. I actually used this bass on the new EP from JL Fulks called Heading Back to Memphis. The producer and the engineer both agreed they wanted the Roscoe on the recording instead of my '72 Jazz.
Here are the specs:
There are zero dings, bumps, scratches on this bass. There are only two things to mention so I cover everything. There are a couple of very small spots on the front were the matte finish has started to gloss up from normal playing from my thumb and hand. Unless you tilt the bass the right way in light, you cannot even notice it. Typical with matte finishes. The other, after a gig I had noticed some of the die from my shirt came off on the back (cheap Walmart tee!). I did manage to get it off using some Fender/Meguiars guitar cleaner. In the process which I did not noticed, it put a bit of a shine on the matte finish on the back of the body. Again you don't notice it unless you tilt the bass right in the light. You can see from the photos it does not affect the beauty of the bass.
Why am I selling it?? Well just received a new Fodera Monarch Standard Special PJ. So with three Roscoes in my closet, one has to go.
Absolutely no trades! With two other Roscoes, a Fodera and a 1972 Jazz I am good in the bass department.
As mentioned, the bass will come with a generic no-name case which I got to store the bass in at home.
The price of $2050 includes shipping. Paypal preferred. Now onto the photos:
