Details

Completely untouched original. Serial on the pickguard matches the headstock. The serial tore slightly, a tiny bit is stuck to the body, when I took off the pickguard so I'm pretty sure I was the first to open it since it was made. Pots date to 1977 39th and 44th weeks. Truss adjusts fine, saddle heights adjust with a little effort (you can soak them overnight in any of various different liquids such as WD-40 to fix that entirely).

The back of the neck is in essentially NEW condition, seriously. Walk into any music store and you won't find a neck that's cleaner. Just two little nicks at the heel.

I've realized I like flatwounds on shorter scale basses to make up for floppiness. These have the discontinued Fender green ones on and it's a perfect match. Prior to that it had on yellow topped roundwound strings which I think may have been the originals and there weren't problems playing with them either (except thier condition).

There is finish checking/lines in a couple spots on front and back but amazingly the sides of the bass are great, just slight wear that doesn't go through the paint in two spots. The lines look way worse with the flash than they do in person, I tried photographing them without flash but you couldn't see them then.

So plays great, sounds great, all original, complete with case which is entirely functional.

$500-FIRM- in my pocket takes it, you pay for shipping and fees if there are any

Thanks, really expected this to sell by now, I need to get my 1953 Pbass restored. Wait that didn't come out right, I meant err...pay for my long lost cousin's appendectomy...yeah, that's the ticket

To make clear, in case you can't tell from the picture, the case is a "chipboard" case, like you would see for an old acoustic guitar.

Frets are tall and even(no divots or marks) and could almost pass for new. The neck I've documented I think, unless there was something more specific you were aiming at?

No noises at all with the electronics and I've never had to clean them. The pickup type and location is close to that of an early 50's Precision so that'd probably be the best timbral comparison I could make.
