A great 1980s-90s (post-Berlin Wall), fully carved 7/8 Eberhard Meinel gamba shape German shop bass. In excellent shape with inlayed purfling and a darker amber varnish—some corner wear here and there and a bit of finish crackling. Maple neck, ribs and back all feature mild flaming and the spruce top has a tight, uniform grain pattern. A large, elegant scroll houses the two on a plate tuning machines. Features a full and round tone that is easily mutable to your needs—will work well for a college music student, a community orchestra or a gigging musician. Has a very comfortable, fuller neck shape and an overstand/upper bout that makes thumb position easily accessible. This is a great deal on a fully carved German instrument. Full measurements below!
