This is a well-played (probably because it is a) great sounding 5-string Warwick Fortress. As can be seen from the pics this is a players bass. I thought I would like a 5 string and bought this but my fingers just want to stick to a 4 string. I liked the sound of this bass so much I ended up buying the 4-string version and now this one is just sitting around. Time to clean out the unused basses. Soon after I bought this bass I had the volume knob replaced with one ordered from Warwick as well as the input jack by my local tech.

Asking $595 shipped CONUS.

It has a two-band eq with a push/pull volume knob that switches between passive and and active modes.

Any tone control when in passive mode?

I played with the tone controls in passive mode and I didn't notice any change in sound, so I believe the treble and bass knobs are only functional in active mode. I should add this bass has an unbelievable amount of growl!

Any chance of getting a picture of the state of the frets on it?

I'll try. It's always hard to take pics of fret condition (for me at least). Obviously this bass has been played a lot so there is some wear, but these are jumbo frets so there's still a lot of life left. I wouldn't worry about needing a fret job anytime soon.

I own the same bass (same color, and almost same wear :) ) in a 4. This bass smokes. It's lighter (at least mine is) than other warwicks, and still has the same guts, balls, and growl. And that's an awesome price. It can be painted for $200 if the wear gets to ya. Just buy it. Someone. So long as it's in the playing condition mr. biggs says it is, you won't be sorry.

I used to have a 95 Masterman version of this...
Amazingly killer basses! They beat the pants off of newer ones for construction. This is a killer deal that I'd love to snap up!!!
But alas, too many basses already.

GLWTS!!!

Also, someone asked for a pic of the frets. I finally have one now. Yes, there is wear of course. This bass has been played. But I think you can see in the pics that, thanks to Warwick and their jumbo frets, there is still a lot of life left in them.
