Alleva-Coppolo - a special edition 5-string created for 2007 NAMM. Have not seen another like it. It has: gold hardware option, active electronics, a 34" scale length, and a wide/thin neck. On AC website, under 1600 basses, there is a photo of bass and the color is listed as caramel. This model has been out of production for some time and rarely comes up for sale anywhere. Made when Jimmy Coppolo was working out of his New York shop, which some consider his best period. Photo from Alleva-Coppolo booth at NAMM 2007 included. Bass is in very good condition cosmetically, plays wonderfully, and presents itself dramatically. It has some minor nicks and dings but no cracks, breaks, repairs or modifications. The front is in excellent condition. It has been kept in a smoke-free house for the last year and a half and rarely taken out. Never gigged during that time. The bass was carefully tried out before purchasing. It has 19 mm spacing and only selling because my son, a jazz player, prefers 17.5 mm or thinner. Will include a fender SKB hardshell case. Bass fits well, is well protected, but not a perfect fit. See photo. Hardshell case will increase shipping cost. Or could be shipped in a good condition, padded gig bag. Local pick-up available in Queens, New York.
Why not try using an 18mm bridge on that bass? I urge your son to keep it....he will regret letting it go!
Thank you for the advice. It was thoughtful of you. However, the bass has been sold and is now on its way up to your area, Ontario. My son is actually gassing now for a Carl Thompson. Who knows? We'll see. We would have to sell a few more of his basses to be able to afford a CT.
