This is a beautiful sounding and playing instrument. Close your eyes and you'll be hard pressed to hear the difference between this and a regular upright bass. It also plays and feels like its big brother. The pickup complement includes both piezo (two pickups) and a Schertler Stat-B pickup. The piezos can be selected/blended for a more pizz or arco emphasis. The Schertler works amazingly well - sounds like a high quality microphone but without feedback issues. The shoulders are generous and well shaped so the instrument lays against your body like a standard DB. The action is quickly adjusted with a 6mm Allen wrench that inserts just above the control panel on rear of instrument. Made in Italy by Alter Ego, this Baby Ego bass is very easy to setup and disassemble. It is set up with a low B string.
