R. Low Vaughn 5-string Carl Thompson style custom scroll bass with exotic woods. Hand built in Boise, Idaho, using only American components. Excellent, like new condition. This is a beautifully built bass. I'm not a 5-string guy but thought I would try again because I own an R. Low Vaughn Panzer. I'm just not bonding with it. Someone else deserves to play this beauty. The original bridge is a handmade wood and aluminum single piece. It is held in place by two screws and the string height is adjusted via wood plates under the bridge which match the shape of bridge. Two plates are provided so you have four string height options. Obviously that could be further tweaked by either making another plate or thinning one of the existing plates. See the one picture from the previous owner with the wood bridge. I wanted more adjustability, however. After some measuring, I found that the top half of a Warwick bridge would work perfectly. It does with zero mods to the bass! It is currently held in place by string pressure. It would be possible to screw it down such that the new screw holes would be hidden by the original wood bridge. Price reduced to $900 shipped in CONUS.
