I’ve got way too many basses! I bought this one 8 years ago and have barely played it – so it’s in pretty much like new condition. (Black is Very unforgiving - it has tiny marks just from sliding in and out of its bag - and it’s never been out of my house!) Line 6 Variax Basses are way cool things. They have uncannily accurate reproductions of all the basses I’ve wanted to own over the years. But I have found that the sound of my Lakland 5 or my Stingray 4 is what I want to hear. So I’ve decided to sell pretty much everything else - which includes a Variax 4 and this Variax 5 This one is a beautiful Black Variax 705 5 string Modeling Bass with the original Variax Pilots Handbook, XPS-DI direct box/power supply, Planet Waves TRS cable, and the original line 6 deluxe padded gig bag. Variax 5 strings are MUCH more rare than the 4 strings. This one is in fantastic condition, and still has protective plastic covering around the knobs (to tell you what they do)!! More Info & PDF Manual Download: http://line6.com/legacy/variaxbass705 The only thing that is different from the way it came from the factory is that I had a luthier take the back of the neck from the “draggy” gloss finish down to satin. (I play a USA Lakland and a Music Man, and both have non-glossy oil finished necks) You’ll see that in the pics - I love the way he masked it so that the satin changes to gloss in a sharp line! I also have a Bass PodXT that I would give someone a package deal on – make me an offer!! Actually trying to thin the herd... but being addicted to basses is how I got here to begin with - so, "Sure - hit me up with trades!" Mostly interested in 5 strings. Green basses trip my trigger. VERY interested in Dingwalls, even if I have to add money.
I have a Spector Q5 Pro in Blue stain that looks somewhat green-ish depending on the light, for trade. I have the case and it has been upgraded to a 9V/18V BQS sytem with 40DC pups. All the hardware is upgraded to gold!!! Looks delicious to me!! I'd love to have your bass. I have recently been made aware of them and I don't know how I missed them when they came out.......
It is still for sale. I'm sure the Spector is beautiful, but I yhink I'll pass. I've had a number of offers, but after keeping it for 7 years and not playing it, I'll just hang on to it unless I get excited about the trade!
Would You consider an Acoustic Bass in the case? I have a Crafter Ba-400 natural with the LR Baggs EQ and built-in tuner, with the Crafter fitted case. Now these are really hard to find. I know, I got it from a dealer in W.Virginia, that I had to practically beg for it. Used it twice in the studio and twice at a couple of benefit gig's. I'm bass poor as well. Just too many to have and not enough hands to play them all.......Thanks ahead!!!HH
Afraid we're in sync on not needing an acoustic bass - I have one I'm taking to the Orlando Guitar Show tomorrow because I never play it! Sorry!
The OP posted the ad 5 years ago. He was last seen on TB 2 years ago. It’s probably not available any more...
