the bass does not have any sticker inside but the luthier places it as circa 1880ies. I was told it was made in Bohemia but it also shares some characteristic of French basses made at that time. It has some ware and tear and few repairs but it is in very good shape for it's age. It's fully carved, spruce top, maple back and sides. Flat back, violin corners, wide shoulders. It would be a great orchestra or jazz bass. There is a nice attack and good beginning to the pizzicato notes. It also sounds really good arco.
