I've decided to reluctantly sell my John Carruthers built Lee Sklar bass. John built this for me back in 2012. It features a 1967 Fender P Bass body, early 1980's EMG pickups, a Badass bridge, Hipshot USA tuners, a custom made brass control plate and one of John's superb hand built necks with mandolin frets. We built this bass around the specs of the one John made for Lee back in the 1970's. John was reluctant to do it but even he conceded it turned out to be a terrific sounding and playing bass. I'd compare the profile of the neck to something between a P bass and Jazz bass. Very comfortable and not too chunky. Weighs just over 8lbs on my scale. I'm not gigging much at these days and when I am it's all 5 strings and occasionally the Upright. Looking for a cash sale only to pay for some much needed repairs to my Upright bass.
