Electronic upgrades include LaCompte Triple Threat hum cancelling single coil pickups($280)and a JOHN EAST UNI 5 + active/passive switch($300). These models currently sell for $1199 new before tax, with the lower spec Bart Mk1 systems. Weight is 9lbs, 5 oz. Scale is 34”. The East Pre is the most versatile (and expensive) model out today. The variation of tones it provides are endless. Ive configured it to: Bass (Boost only setting) Treble +/-, Sweepable Mid freq selector control and +/- Mid level control, Pan, Master volume & master TONE control, (for active or passive tone control). 2 position Switch for active passive/operation. The flat fingerboard makes this a very fast playing bass. And if you’ve never held a single cut bass, its a different animal. The neck is VERY RIGID with zero flex. ( You're not bending any notes by pushing on this neck) Neck is also flat, as is the fingerboard. I think Cort was going for a Fodera feel, and they’ve achieved it. Bass had 1 rattling tuner which I found during open harmonic testing and replaced with a US Hipshot ultra-lite matching unit. Now this bass has sustain for days (If you should need to hold a note for a few days) and can cover most any genre with this pre/pups. Pix dont show the current electronics. Will upload them shortly. SOLD $599 Free Ship - Steinberger Spirit 4 string w US EMG pickups,($200) and Audere 3 band pre.($140) Brass string lock ($80). Straplock button/lock. Weight 7lbs 2 oz. 34” scale, 24 fret w Zero fret. Strap pin moved to upper bout. I found the lower output of the OEM Spirit pickups required replacement. Installed US EMG pickups, same model as those used in the molded US models. The addition of the Audere 3 band was the cherry on the cake. The brass string lock permits use of standard strings. Works perfectly. This bass sounds like a US Steinberger, WITH tone adjustability. These can be found stock for $475 and up out of Japan with the passive config/spirit pickups, but white ones, new, are very hard to find in the US. I know recouping upgrades is difficult, but I’m asking a little more than an OEM model to cover the $400+ in upgrades. The EMG’s I got were cream. I covered them in white Vinyl wrapping, but have since purchased black vinyl, and considering returning the pickup decor to Black w Black frames. I will leave them white at the buyers request. This bass comes with a light weight gig bag and wrenches. CONUS Ship is free cause its pretty light, and small.
