This is an early Devon Smullen, who is a boutique builder who has a fantastic reputation for building very high quality instruments. This is no exception. A highly figured ash body with a AA figured Maple top. Maple neck with rosewood board. Solid tuners and bridge not to mention the coveted early EMG P/J pick ups combined with their 3 band preamp. The knobs have been replaced with black EMG brand and I will include a off brand Maple neck with a Maple board with black block inlays I never got to change out. The sound is exactly what you might expect from the ash maple EMG combo, think Queensryche, Alice In Chains bite and drive. I actually got this bass because it reminded me of Newsted on Garage Days. The finish is good has minimal blemishes and bumps but nothing major. The top is really impressive and hard to capture with my phone camera. Also the volume pot occasionally gets scratchy. But is ready to rock out of the case. The truss is almost maxed and I'm including a Fender jazz style neck, Maple, Maple black block inlays. Was going to be a project but since I'm not able to play 34" for a long period of time no point in me doing the work needed because I'll never end up playing it. Also messaged with Devon and these early instruments were originally made with reshaped Fender replacement necks. Selling all my 34" full scale basses due to wrist and hand issues. Make me an offer and trades for 30"-32". Thank you for your consideration.
