Interested, but I'm ignorant in most matters relating to pickups. I picked up a Peavey Grind5 a month or two ago which feels great and plays really well, but I don't like the sound of it....sounds like it has a head cold...and am toying with the idea of using it as a platform to learn more about onboard electronics.
The P.O. had rewired the existing controls (originally v/v/t/t) to v/t/blend, and left the 4th pot in place as a dummy. Stock pickups.
I'm pretty sure the 40 pickups are the right size. Are these pickups in this listing a good selection for this bass (looking for more high end clarity)? If so, is there anything else needed for the installation (separate onboard preamp? Battery connector? Something else I'm not aware of?)?
