Dropping the price to $1,000.
Turns out I really just prefer short scales, so I’m parting with this baby. I bought it used and it had been pretty extensively modified by the previous owner - this includes:
*Being refinished in translucent purple
*The pickup/EQ being replaced with a Seymour Duncan PU and EQ - I’m not sure of the model. It was like this when I received the bass, and I was recently told by a tech that there’s likely a loose wire - as a result, there is some hum in the two single coil positions.
*The nut is non-original and looks like it was repaired. I haven’t had any issues holding my tuning, but you may want to replace it.
*Adding a Hipshot extender on the low E
*The stock black pickguard was replaced with a clear one (I’ll include the original)
Some other notes: the bass is in good shape, but has definitely been played. There are some minor nicks on the neck and fretboard, and the treble control knob is missing. It sounds awesome and plays really well. If you’ve played one of these, you know how flexible they are! I have it strung up with Ernie Ball flats in standard tuning, and will include the case, which is pretty beat up.
Given the mods and condition, I’m pricing this one accordingly - you won’t find a made in USA Sterling for a better price. I’m also totally open for a trade (plus cash from my end if needed) for a short scale EBMM Stingray, Sandberg Lionel, American Performer Mustang…or really any cool, well-made shorty. Local pickup strongly preferred. Please feel free to ask any questions or for more pictures - I’m selling this bass as-is and want to make sure the buyer is comfortable. I’m happy to answer and provide whatever I can!
