Another one of my SDGR’s up for sale… 
This is a very cool little bass that’s really light weight (just under 8lbs) and gets compliments every time I take it out of its case, but it rarely gets played. Rosewood board with maple neck and body that has some nice grain!
This bass was turquoise, but then the pre-amp gave out, so I junked the pups and preamp and decided to do a full makeover starting with stripping the body and front of the headstock. I used a honey yellow dye and many coats of tung oil for the body. I left the back of the neck with its original finish, which has a fast satin feel.
Next I replaced the electronics and pups with passive Seymour Duncan P/J’s, the SD bridge is a Hot for Jazz SJB-2, I lost the covers for the neck SD Performer pups years ago and put some standard new covers on. I also added a 3-way toggle for switching picks ups. Bass sounds killer and is very versatile for any style of music.
These early SR500 are surprisingly well made. Bass is in new condition, especially the frets, neck, and hardware, no dings anywhere. The light weight and thin neck of this bass makes it easy to play a 4-hour gig!
