These were just taken out of a brand new Classic 50’s Precision bass and are perfectly functional...in fact, they sound pretty darn good! Plenty of leads left. Thumpy and articulate, these are a big step up in design and sound from run of the mill MIM Standard pickups in that they are wound just like traditional P pickups (essentially the same pickup as the pre 2012 American Standard and Roadworn series), with magnetized AlNiCo V pole pieces instead of the stainless steel slugs with two ceramic magnets glued to the bottom, such as you’ll find on the standard MIM line and others, including the Mustang PJ’s, etc.
Because I REALLY like the covers (they’re smoother than the rough edged ones some boutique makers like Fralin provide), I’m willing to knock off $2 if buyer is willing to take just the pups sans covers. Otherwise, I’m asking $25 shipped for a set most 50’s Classic owners never feel a need to change out. Are they that good? Yes.
