This bass started its life as a Classic Series 70's Precision. They were only made for a couple of years back in 2011 or so. I think they were initially made in Japan, but some later ones were made in Mexico. This is a Mexican-made bass and I got it soon after they came out. It's a Precision body with a Jazz bass neck. Fender still sells the necks for $450. I'm not a Precision guy, so I quickly had a Jazz p/u installed, along with some other modifications which I'll list below.

Modifications (essentially, I tried to turn it into a Spector)
- Input jack moved to side of body
- Truss rod access route
- EMG Alnico p/u's with Haz-clone preamp by BAZ Custom (comparable to SNC's clones. I have a few from both guys)
- Hipshot bridge
- Battery compartment is beneath the pickgaurd (see photo)
- Vol/Blend/Stacked Bass and Treble
- Joe Kruse (of Carl Thompson and MBJ Guitars) did the final mods
