I believe this to be about a 1998, but am unsure. I know they no longer make this model. I have been through many Jazz basses and I disliked all of them. I'm just not a J guy, mainly because of the thin-sounding single-coil pickups. But the humbuckers on this RBV made me fall in love! It fattened up the tone enough that I really enjoy playing this. The price may seem a bit high because I'm on the fence about letting this go and I'm in no hurry!
Here's specs:
- Teal Green Metallic finish
- Original dual coil humbuckers (supposedly Bill Lawrence double Js)
- All passive with Vol, Tone, P/up selector switch, and series/parallel/single coil switch for each pickup
- 6-bolt neck
- 34" scale maple neck and rosewood fingerboard
- 1-7/8" nut width
- 10.0lbs
- Great condition for its age. 7/10 with the following flaws:
-- Chrome finish on string-thru ferrules and bass side of bridge have tarnished
-- Odd 'bleached' spot on bass edge of fingerboard at 2nd fret. Seems to be under the finish
-- Several dents on bottom edge, none bigger than 1/4"L
-- Minor scratches on top edge of upper horn
-- Scratches in bass side cutaway
-- Discolored spots on top edge of arm rest
- Includes orange lined tweed Fender case in beat up condition. One latch doesn't 'spring' when opened.
Price includes shipping in the lower 48 States. I will ship internationally at additional cost.
