Price Drop - There's a bass I'm after so I'm pricing this to move. Price dropped to $1,250 shipped and paypaled.
Fender Select bass for sale or trade here. I have 5 jazz basses so I'm just trying to diversify. I always liked the Fender selects, but I could never find one with nice even flame. I also don't like Fender's preamps. So, I took my time and found a Fender Select active body from Stratosphere, I found a Fender select neck and case online and added my favorite electronic package.
The bass has a Nordstrand 3 band preamp. It is selectable active or passive by pulling the tone knob. The cool thing about it is the tone knob works in both active and passive mode. The controls are: Vol/Vol stack, Tone (pull passive/push active), Mid boost/cut (pull@1kHz/push @400Hz), bass/treble stack. The pickups in it are Aero type 1 single coils. I also have a set of Nordstrand single coils if you'd prefer them over the Aeros. It has a string thru body Badass III bridge, factory grooved so the spacing is adjustable. I also added a Fender branded drop D tuning peg to match the stock tuners.
The bass has a fresh setup by my favorite tech and action is set low with no fret buzz. Truss rod works as it should. It has a new set of Diadario strings. Parchment pearloid pick guard.
The bass weighs an even 9 pounds on my bathroom scale. The only issue is with the case - one latch is missing the metal hoop that holds itself closed.
