I have a custom to pay off so I'm letting my favorite bass go. Fodera Monarch Standard Special with black hard ware and a Drop-D tuner, purchased new by me from bass san diego this past winter. Ash body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, port orford cedar top, fodera/duncan dual-coils and 24 frets of sweet, Fodera, dreamy goodness.. She is mint as far as I can tell, as is the case. I also just put a new set of Fodera nickels on (40-100).

Aside from the outstanding playability, my favorite part of this bass is how at home it is in so many situations. The ash and rosewood really work together when ran through fodera dual-coils, percussive enough for good articulate finger style and slap, but can easily be tamed and warmed up if needed for a more 'familiar' tone. Great preamp and single/dual coil switch with a passive tone roll off. She's kind of a chameleon, for sure. I play everything from world music, funk, jam, soul and rock - it shines in any setting. The tonal variation is huge, but it also has an incredible passive voice, which I generally use as my default.

Other than the sound, it balances perfectly and plays with ease, as you'd expect from a Fodera. The action can get as low as you'd like, though I keep it mid-height because that's what gets along with my playing style. The cedar top is really, really, great looking - tasteful, but still complex enough to keep it interesting. There is more depth to it in person and a little more contrast as well (my phone camera doesn't really capture all of its glory). Matched with the rosewood fingerboard and she's neither too flashy or modest. Good looks, a tastefully rich and articulate tone at only just over 8 lbs (bathroom scale).

I really can't say enough good things about this bass, I know I'll definitely miss this one for as long as I play. Best bass I've played, period. Selling for $4180 with some "non-taxed" form of payment (certified check, bank-wire, cash, personal check that clears before shipment, etc.), if you'd like to use paypal that is fine but add 3% to the price.

Sold pending payment - expected early next week. Thread will remain open until then should something fall through.

Feel free to shoot a PM for the second slot in line, but the bass is reserved for the time being and I expect the current deal to close.
