Hello all!

I have a 1990 Fender Heartfield DR-5C for sale today.
It is the deluxe version being that it is neck through, natural finish. It has a extremely quilted and figured maple top, the pictures don't do it justice. Its in excellent condition except for a few belt buckle dings on the back of the body that wouldn't show up in any of the pictures and one ding on the top of the headstock and a very minor crack in the top veneer right below the fretboard have to look closely to see it. I pictured it as best as I could it has not spread a millimeter as long as I've owned it. Being as it is 21 year old bass its extremely nice! The DR-xC were built from 1990-1993 so this is a fairly rare bass and being that this was in the first year of production is fairly neat.

It comes with the original hard shell case which will be included in the sale. The case isn't in the best shape on the outside but it has done its job keeping this bass safe The only modifications that have been done are abalone brass knobs and brass strap-locks (I don't recall the brand) And depending on the price these will be included in the sale along with the original parts. Everything else is 100% original. It is currently strung E-C but that may change. I have never had to make a neck adjustment on the neck in the 2 years I've owned it.

Let's say 1100 OBO with the knobs and locks, shoot me a PM with a offer! Don't be afraid the worse I can do is say no. This bass originally retailed for $1799.99, so please don't offer me 100 bucks with your squier :-) This money is going towards another bass so I'm not really interested in trades :-) Oh yeah I prefer NOT to use PayPal.

Im sure i missed some stuff about it but here is the Heartfield website that offers more information about these basses.

Gotta bump for these basses. These are awesome and don't often come up for sale used. Good luck in the sale.

Heartfield love bump. I have a 1991 DR-6C that is a fine bass (Mine is towards the bottom with the Canary wood top). Way under-rated and really I think the death of shred and renewed interest in old vintage are the only reason Fender killed this line. Wish they had kept the line going but I do understand business is business. Good luck on your sale.

Weight? (I notice that you haven't posted it, and I am potentially interested in acquiring this bass if the weight is low enough).

THANKS!

On the bathroom scale I weight 163 with the bass and 153 with out the bass so 10 pounds. I've played this bass on many gigs and never had an issue with weight. Hope this helped!

Thanks, Evan -- 10 lb. may not pose an issue for many bassists, but after 2 neck and shoulder surgeries in the last 10 months, even my 9 lb. Lull 5-string is a bit too heavy for me! I find that I spend most of my time playing my 7 lb. "LullDowsky" 4-string. I am really looking for a sub-8 lb. 5-string (or close to that weight).

Cheers ... and good luck selling this beautiful bass (which you are offering at a fantastic price, by the way)!
