Awesome bass, but it's been sitting in a closet for a while, not being played. It's in great shape, with no issues. A few (easily reversible) upgrades to this beast:
1) Rickenbacker HB-1 Humbucker pickup installed in the bridge position (original 4003 single coil bridge pickup included).
2) a Tubeampology bridge pickup bezel has been fitted (allows for easier fingerstyle playing at the bridge pickup, but doesn't get in the way of pick-style). Here's the builder of the bezel: http://www.tubeampology.com/2501.html
Otherwise, this is stock. The mods can be reversed with about 15 minutes of work, and all the original parts are included. Has the standard Rick hardshell case. This was the first year that Rick put in the push-pull tone pot that allows for either the 4001 bridge pickup tone (high-pass filtered and super growly), or full-range bridge pickup tone. It's great, but I really just never play it.
I'd really love to not ship this, if possible. I'm near Chapel Hill, NC.
