    Hey guys,

Do you remember these bad boys? Surprised how few and far between I see them now. Back in the day (yeah, I said it, I'm old) I remember seeing them around quite a bit. Anyhoo...

I am now selling my beloved Ampeg SVT-200T bass amplifier. I have been forced to downsize my space and no longer can hold onto this behemoth.

It is a solid state rendition of the Classic Ampeg series before they even made the Classics. I believe this was made in the early 90's. It's super solid and has never given up on me. I havent played out regularly with it for a quite a few years and have used it as an oversized practice amp. She deserves more than that.

It isn't lightweight by any means which leads to a sense of the build quality thru out. Oddly, the main transformer is off to one side and the only handle is the one on top so it leans a bit when you pick it up. Never bugged me all that much. But, it has to be said that it drove some folks nuts!

I love the tone controls. WAY more flexible than anything with a graphic eq. Each knob has a pull function that lets you choose a slightly different frequency. It has so much flexibility. Deep and Hi pull's extend the range outside of many cabinets but really helps if you have something that doesn't translate exactly how you want it to.

This thing is NOT sterile like some believe when they hear Solid State. You can put all sorts of funkiness and growl into and that's just what you'll get out...just with Ampeg's fingerprints all over it. Great mojo.

Crazy features worth noting: DI direct output with discrete level control so you can give the sound man only as much as he can handle. ;) Even has an effect's loop. Extra AC outlet on the back to power any accessories. 3 Position ground lift switch. BI-Ampable with variable crossover! Are you kidding? Where else can you get that on a sub $800 amp? Craziness.

Power ratings are as follows: 200 watts @ 8ohms and 320 watts @ 4ohms. That's RMS watts not to be mistaken with the sales crap out there now that will list "peak" watts in some marketing mumbo jumbo. RMS is sustainable output. It's an Ampeg. They are known for pushing more than they should be able to.

This is your chance to get in on that legendary Ampeg sound and reliability on the cheap. Come and get it...seriously....I may have just convinced myself to keep it....hurry.

Ha! I suppose that would be some vital info Warpeg.

It's located in the Minneapolis area. Asking $250. I'd be willing to ship, but it might be a bit costly due to it's weight. I'm willing to look into it tho.

    Thanks for asking.

  5. i would love to have this amp, but i'm getting about $75.00 shipping from UPS for a 60 lb item in cont. us.:bawl:
seems like they could have figured out the bugs with the transportation machine (The Fly) by now and we'd all be driving hover crafts. humans don't know what's important. anyone up in yankee land ought to jump on this old school amp!

A little late to the party, but is this guy still around? I'm looking for a backup to my current 200T.
