Okay, I'm selling this mojo-ridden monster.

Here are the specs:
- 9 Strings (tuned: F#, B, E, A, D, G, C, F, Bb)
- Sidewinder Bodystyle
- Neck-Through
- 30 Frets
- Walnut Body
- Gaboon Ebony Fretboard
- Maple/Purpleheart Neck
- Bartolini Pickup / Preamp
- Extended Cutaway
- Oil Finish
- Weight about 12-13 lbs.

The street price for this bass direct from Conklin is currently over $7000.

However, this bass has been through hell and back! The Oil finish is worn and there is tons of scrapes on the body (even a couple of extra holes for a normal strap). Regardless, the bass plays and sounds great.

So, I'm offering 2 options:

1) $2900 in it's current condition.
2) $3500 sanded down with a brand new Poly finish from Michael Dolan.

Dolan quoted me $500-600 to do the finish on it, which will make the instrument close to brand new (he might be able to wire in a couple more holes/pots if you want full eq). A new finish will delay the bass 1-2 months and I would like payment in full before getting the work done to the instrument.

Shipping is around $50 for US. Comes with a Soft-Hard Case. The bass has black metal knobs now (the wood knobs in the photos are on my 11) and the added straps are no longer on it. PM me if you have any questions. I will try to take close-up pics of the body, but honestly if you are nitpicky about scratches this probably isn't the instrument for you (unless you opt for the refinish).

Here's a few pics

Of all your basses, this is actually the one I covet most. Wish I could afford it.

I must say that it's really cool to see a high dollar Conklin with a bunch of playing wear on it. I get the impression that a lot of them get bought and only leave the house once or twice per year, if that, and otherwise get played very gingerly. It's always kind of rubbed me the wrong way. :)

I wish this were fanned (and that I had $3k burning a hole in my pocket).

Jean, what is the scale length and the string spacing (center to center) at the nut and at the bridge?

Wow, nice bass.this bass has got 2 higher strings than a typical 6 string bass. But yet it has 6 more frets.

My feeble brain can't handle the math but I reckon this is close to the range of an 88key piano, right?...at least a 76 key.Is it? That is freakin awesome!!

It'll be cool just to be seen on stage with this, use only 2 strings and call it musical self control.;)

Can replacement strings be purchased easily?

Tonewise, it looks like a Fender-jazz-jaco-bridge-pickup kinda tone. what other tones can u get out of it?
