UPDATE: This bass is now sold, $3,700.

I'm selling my beautiful F-Bass AC6 fretless bass. This bass has a spruce top, flame maple body, and flame maple neck. It's finished in cherry burst gloss finish. 19mm spacing, Gabon ebony fingerboard.

[DEL]$4,700[/DEL] [DEL]$4,500[/DEL] (2/23 price drop!) $4,300 shipped!

A new AC6 lists at $6,899, and will set you back many months in build time. This bass is in excellent condition and plays beautifully. If you're a serious fretless player, this is an equally serious bass for you. Jump on this!

The bass has a chambered body, and has an F-Bass hand-wound magnetic pickup, as well as a piezo pickup on the bridge. As well as offering a "standard" magnetic tone, the piezo pickup and chambered body allows you access to acoustic tones, and the attack that an acoustic instrument offers.

It's in excellent condition, just a few nicks on the top of the headstock.

This is an incredible bass, but I rarely play fretless anymore. I hate to sell it, but here I am.

:bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl:

Comes with a nice soft fur padded case.

Will consider partial cash trades for:

- recording equipment (preamps, microphones, esp stereo pairs)
- nice fx pedals (Moog, Eventide, etc)
- nice amps (Fender blackface, Verellen, etc)
- analog synths (OB8, Juno 106, Minimoog D, etc)
- Sequentix Cirklon
- electronics equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, soldering irons, etc)

Incredible flame on the backside! You say Satin finish, but it looks glossy in the pics.

What year is it?

Cheers.

The last two digits on the SN are 04, so 2004.

Perhaps it is glossy. I bought the bass from my friend (original owner), and may have switched those in my head. You're right that it does appear glossy in the photos. Will double confirm when I get home tomorrow (out of town)!

Hey y'all, sorry I missed these questions - my email wasn't getting subscription updates. Any how...

String spacing: should be standard 19mm
Finish: cherry burst gloss finish (my bad!)
Fingerboard: Gabon ebony

The thumb rest has two screws in it, so I imagine it's removable. I personally don't use thumb rests, and I don't find it gets in my way at all. I use a floating thumb technique so YMMV.

IF somehow this isn't sold, can you bring it to the Seattle GTG? I'd be interested in seeing what all the rage is about F-Basses!

Here's a VERY funky and cool clip of someone playing an Fbass AC6, the model that is for sale here.

The clip starts off with bass and drums then adds guitar...

But for some reason the clip doesn't show the bass player until the guitar is added.

While you are waiting to see it though, I'm sure you will appreciate the musicianship of all three musicians in the video...

And the fantastic tone of the AC6.

I have to agree by the way that this is a great price for an AC6.

That is awesome clip.

And, um, bump. And yes, if this showed up at the Seattle GTG it would be fantastic!

Fortunately, I also have a fretted F-Bass (my main and only other bass) so if I make it out I'll definitely bring it!
Awesome!

I know they sound great, but I need to put one in my hands for a spell, just to see the feel and how they sound in person, through my rig.

Free bump for OP :)

Potential buyer via PM fell through! But, he did offer me a Moog low-pass filter, which I'm all about! Moog! Ok, cool! PM me to haggle, ask more details, or do it all via the thread, I don't mind.
