I'm assuming stock tubes from Fender on the preamp. Power section has 4 Groove Tubes 6L6-GC (2 Blue Matched).



Yes, all tube pre and power. You can record in silent mode which has a cool feature of actually getting power tube saturation along with your pre tube saturations. You can also record silent pre power tube as well.



You can also switch to 25w mode or a full 100w of tube power.



Fender has the weight at 48.5 lbs. Here are the full specs from Fender's website:

Thanks for the good luck wishes. Should not be hard to sale with as good as this thing sounds. It really is a great sounding amp. I think Fender really nailed it with this head and it's big brother SB300. Still trying to justify keeping it around. If I can figure out how to afford holding on to it, I will.

I recorded with it again and just love the power tube saturation you can get with this amp in silent mode. Something the SB300 just can't pull off.

Recorded this just tonight, direct in silent mode, on Post. Relatively flat with a bit of grit on the overdrive channel. I really do love how this head sounds. I have been using the SB300 for live, but for in the studio and at home, this head is perfect. I guess if it doesn't sale, it won't be a heart sob story, I'll just have to sell one of kids.

Deciding between this, a Mesa D-180, a Mesa Prodigy(used) and an used Fender 100 Bassman.

Can you help me? How would you compare your 100T to the Mesa sound?

It really is in near mint condition.

As far as Mesa vs. Fender, I think it comes down to a few things to help your decision.

1.) Price - This may or may not be an issue for you, but the Prodigy was a bit out of my price range.


2.) Tone - Completely subjective. If you are wanting that classic Fender tone, this head will obviously do it well. The vintage stack does very nice, but the over drive channel allows for modern eq adjustments that would be comparable to the Mesa Prodigy IMO. The difference is the fix mid frequencies of the Prodigy with their 5 position "voicing" compared to the Fender's sweepable mid on the active OD channel. Keep in mind this opinion is only from what I have read as I have not had the pleasure of running a Prodigy first hand. I would like to try one out, but there are no local dealers in town. I think you will find die hard fans in both camps. Like I said, tone is completely subjective.


3.) Auto Bias feature - This is what sold me on the new Bassman series. First time owning a full tube amp, I didn't want to know a tube tech by first name so the auto bias feature really sold me. If Fender has figured out how to keep my tubes in optimum working order, I'm all for it!

I'm sure there are other things to consider as well, but this was my short compare list when I was considering one over the other.
