Wow. If I hadn't just bought an '83 Musician I would be adding this to my Ibanez collection... I've never actually seen one of these before. Ibanez Register lists the pickups as J60s, and I have no idea what those are. That is a battery compartment in the back, yes? I didn't know any of these roadstars were active, although that's even stranger as the controls are V/V/T/T. Any idea what is going on with the pickups?

If you check the serial number the 2nd and 3rd number should tell you the year it was made (83, 84, 85 etc).

Also, any interest in an Ibanez ATK700 in blue moon finish? About all I could offer in trade bait right now!

I used to own one of these, by far my favorite of any bass that I have ever played, I regret selling it but had to escape my ex-wife, small price to pay for freedom. Very deep throaty sound. This looks all original, down to the boomerang strap buttons and accucast bridge. This bass will not disappoint ... I'm trying to scrape up the money for this...Scout if you decide to take trades, let me know.

It is definitely active and you can get a lot of tone options with the V/V/T/T configuration. Looks like it is a 1985 judging by the serial . Think they only made these for a couple of years.
I am selling this along with some other basses to fund a G&L. Thank you though.

BUMP!

I own a white one of these (bought it brand new in 85) and it is killer. The neck is unbelievably thin and fast and the bass has fantastic tone (a great slapper). FYI, the pickups are active but vol/tone is passive (the battery supplies power directly to the pickups). This is a GREAT deal for a rare and highly underrated bass. Good luck with your sale (I may be back if I can convince the wife).

Yeah mate - postal code 7016. I'm hoping my gear sells in the next week.
I can PM you with any other info you need but I wont hassle you til I actually have a bit more cash to throw at you.
I'm also more than happy for you to take the strings and neck off. Makes a huge difference in the size of the package and therefore shipping to Australia.
Cheers,
Jake.
