Here is a cool old 1973 Fender Precision I bought from Montanamike a few months back. I found the '77 p bass literally the same week and decided to hold on to it instead. This bass has a very warm traditional p sound, whereas my 77 is more agressive and edgy. This 73 is a player, clearly its got tons of mojo, finish checking, chips and wear. But it has NOT been abused. Its all honest wear for a nearly 40 year old bass. The frets are dressed down pretty low, but the bass intonates just fine. There is a shim in the neck pocket to give the neck a little tilt back, the neck itself is very straight with very little relief right now. Put flats on it and it'll play great for years to come. Eventually, yeah, it'll probably need a refret. It has a professionally installed 2tek bridge that while obviously not original equipment gives the bass incredibly even sustain and really minimizes any dead spots in the typical 7th to 8th fret range on the g string. I barely notice any loss of sustain in the typical Fender dead spot, and the bass has a very loud resonant acoustic tone. Pickup is a Duncan Vintage (SPB1 I think), pots are CTS replacements (based on what previous owner told me), pickguard is not original. It will come well packed, but without a case, unless you want to pay extra for me to pick you up one. $1200 + shipping
