Well, I hate to do it, but here she is. One of these days, I'll realize that I'm not a Jazz neck guy, and stop buying awesome basses with slim, super fast necks.

Which is really a shame, as I love everything else about this bass: Active P/J pups with a great passive mode, light weight (just over eight pounds on my luggage scale), neck-through construction, quality hardware, and old-timey made-in-America Peavey quality. And, oh yeah...all that beautiful Koa!

34" scale; 21 frets

According to Peavey Customer Service, this bass was built on June 7, 1990.

I'd love to tell you that this bass is in pristine condition, but it's not. It's a great player and has obviously been well-used by its previous owners. The body and neck are in good shape, but have their share of small scratches and dings. However, they are hard to see in person and don't photograph well, due to the bass's finish. Click on the full-sized pics for close-up details.

There are only two really noticeable flaws on the bass's front: a whitish spot near the control knob closest to the output jack, and an "odd" spot in the finish near the base of the neck. Both appear to be part of the bass's finish, but it's hard to tell. There is a good-sized dent in the very tip of the headstock.

The bass has been professionally set up and is strung with new D'Addario Half Rounds. The electronics all work properly, although the preamp is a little noisy when the high EQ is cranked (I've only played one other Dyna-Unity and it did the same thing, so it seems to be normal). Despite the bass's light weight, I never had any headstock dive issues when using a plain 3" leather strap.

When I bought the bass, the battery door was missing. The doors aren't available from Peavey any more, so the bass is now sporting a custom battery cover, made from pickguard material. Here's the before shot:
