Some of you may remember me from way back. I used to operate a custom bass guitar shop out of my garage until a couple of years ago when unexpected life events forced me to close the shop down. This particular piece was one of the few I built for myself. being above all a lover of music and the instrument, I wanted something that captured what in my opinion are some of the best features when a custom one of a kind instrument is being designed.
Needs new strings. Depending on your location you may need to adjust the truss rod as changes in temperature and humidity may throw off its current set up.
These are the specs:
6 string custom bass guitar.
Solid, thin profile, comfort carved zebrawood singlecut body.
35" scale length.
26 medium jumbo frets.
ABM headless hardware (allows the use if regular strings, no double balls needed).
Set neck construction.
One piece quartersawn padauk neck.
Quartersawn ziricote fingerboard with flat profile (think classical guitar. My favorite profile, I used the tag line "once you go flat, you won't go back).
Two single coil Ramirez custom wound pickups.
Audere premium 4 band preamp wired for 18 volts with Zmode switch and active bypass.
Carved wenge/Birdseye maple neck transition block.
On board Allen wrench holder (for changing strings and adjusting the bridge).
Black hardware.
Strap locks.
Free premium leather 4" strap.
Zero fret.
Matching wood control cavity and battery covers (battery cover is held in place by strong neodymium magnets for a secure hold and tool-less battery replacement).
17mm string spacing at the bridge.
~ 9 lbs total weight not including the strap.
For an instrument with these specs ordered new it would've cost about $3,000. I'm selling it for $1,250 shipped with a case in the contiguous US. Looks, plays and sounds excellent. I don't want to part with it, it is an outstanding instrument, but unfortunately I have more pressing financial needs at the moment. Sorry, but no trades.
