Divorce procedure force me to sell a bunch of basses (see the other two, Fender Victor Bailey 5 and F Bass BN6).
Vigier Arpege III 5 string build for me back in August 2006.
Serial number is 076. The color is Clear Blue Night.
Playability is the first strong point of this bass. The string spacing at he bridge is 16mm (like Warwicks, I think). The phenolic fingerboard make for fast soloing and tapping and the 90/10 neck (90% wood, 10% graphite) allows it to be very thin. It is setup for low action (but not extremely low) with DR Hi Beams MR5-45. The B is pretty good (not as good as on a F Bass though).
This bass is alder body with neckthrough maple neck. Weighs 8.8lb. Scale is 34.5
The second strong point is versatility in tone. The electronic is very different from what you are used to. It is active but has a 12 memory bank of dual parametric eq presets. Plus there is a vintage tone control on the bridge PU. Very punchy versatile preamp.
The pickups are benedettis, single coils. Sound great, just need to stay away from heavy electromagnetic sources.
Sound goes from great growly mids, to punchy slap and interesting highs for soloing...
It is in excellent shape, never gigged outdoors. It has a few finger nail marks but nothing noticeable unless you really look for it.
It comes in the Vigier gig bag, in the original shiping box, with accessories, including tools, manual and Schaller strap locks (will give you the original strings as well). If you want to see higher res pictures, email me. With Vigier's website redesign, I can't find the original specs, but someone must have saved them somewhere.
Price is $2500 + shipping
I'll ship from zip 94040 and will use UPS ground.
Pickup possible in the SF Bay Area.
Obviously, I can't accept any trade!
Thanks for the help!!!
