Up for sale is my 2018/2023 G&L L-2000 Tribute bass. I purchased this bass back in the fall of 2018. I was never happy with the original neck. Shortly after purchasing the bass I reached out to Memo at G&L and he offered to take the bass back and give it a good look. I was lazy and had managed to get the bass to a playable position as long as I used low tension strings like the TI Round Wound Jazz strings (which I happen to love so no issues there!!!). I played it over the 2018-2019 winter and stashed it away in a case I had for my L-1000 when spring came and the neck started to react to the change of seasons. The bass sat there for the majority of the time until back in the fall of 2023 when I reached out to Memo and he sent an RA. I got back the bass about a month ago after he installed a brand new neck (standard L-2000 dimensions) and gave it his seal of approval.
I am playing a lot more guitar these days and have a cool Fallout that I use far more often so, while the bass is finally sorted and plays great, I'm finding I just don't need it anymore. So, I'm offering up for sale a bass that, while purchased new back in the fall of 2018, has had almost no use, with a brand new neck just installed two months ago. The frets have no marks on them, there is no fret sprout, the back is satin finished so it is smooth as can be. The fretboard is a really dark rosewood. It is a beautiful bass with very little use. Never gigged, it never even left my house. On top of that, it does all the things you would expect a properly sorted L-2000 to do. Like you've heard it said before, a proper L-2000 is the Swiss Army knife of basses. It is currently strung with whatever G&L is using for their guitars. It used to be D'addario NYXL's but I'm not sure if that is what Memo put on this bass.

New, these L-2000 Tributes sell for $800 with poplar bodies. This one I am selling for $499.99, it's made in 2018, is all Swamp Ash and because you can see the grain on both sides you can see that this isn't a guitar made up of a number of slabs of wood. Plus the grain is gorgeous.
I do not have a case for this bass.
I will not ship this bass what with the way UPS and FedEx handle large packages these days. If you are interested, it is for sale with PICK UP only. I am located in Litchfield County, CT. 06776 and am willing to drive a bit to meet up with you if you are serious about buying the bass. I have a desktop amp I can bring with me so you can test the bass to make sure everything works as it should.
