New here! Telecaster bass squier

I just bought a Squier Telecaster Bass and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I've seen a lot of people complain about Squier, but where I live, a Fender would be ridiculously expensive.

What do you guys think about this bass? Have you had any problems with it?

I'm coming from a Precision-style bass from PHX, so honestly, I'm sure it'll be a huge upgrade for me anyway.

Thanks! I thought it looked beautiful too. I'm just a little concerned about having only one humbucker in the neck position. Since it's my only bass, I'm a bit worried I might miss some treble and definition. If I do, I'll probably mod it a bit.


Either way, I figured it would be better to get something with more personality to learn on than something super versatile that might leave me a little lost.

I get that, yea you may lose some highs but you should have a nice thick, warm sound with plenty of low-end and midrange weight, plus eq is an option. Here is my CIC Squier with a single coil.

If you find the neck sticky when you get it - don't let that defer you - there are workaroundsa and solutions for that. Search sticky neck classic vibe squier and you will find videos and guides - if you are unsure - have a tech do it.

it sounds good, but i keep thinking about putting a cap in the bridge just to get more possibilities
