History (Fujigen) MIJ MMBJ Sub Short Scale 24.75" scale 2002

History MMBJ (mini mini bass jazz) sub-short-scale bass, 2002, made in Japan.

The MMBJ was created as part of History's line for younger players, but these have been adopted by adults as well, especially anyone looking for a smaller-scale, lighter instrument to deal with ergonomic issues, or who are used to "ukelele bass" scale lengths.

History is the house brand of Japan's Shimamura Music Stores, and these instruments were crafted by Fujigen, best known for building many Fender Japan and Ibanez instruments.

In the photos, you can see a size comparison (pre-bridge upgrade) next to a 29" scale Bacchus WJB-Mini.

Note: The color comes off more red in photos, but it’s more of a deep magenta.

Kahler 2440 fixed bridge with 3-way adjustable saddles, currently set to narrow (14mm) width but can be set wider as desired
Upgrades and setup by renowned Chicago luthier Ben Frye

Includes NEW unopened strings + goodies that were custom-made for this instrument - current set on the bass are standard short scales but these should work a bit better.

1 set of specially custom-wound sub-short-scale Newtone (UK) strings, 45-105, $45 value
2 sets of specially custom-wound, sub-short-scale Pyramid strings in .055 .075 .095 .126, $90 value
Pyramid picks, stickers, coasters etc.

Has very minor scratches around the control cavity cover and back of headstock, otherwise in great shape.
