I purchased this 55-AJ from Primer Bass Guitars in 2012 and installed a Korean Skyline ebony fretless neck. The preamp was upgraded to an Aguilar OBP-3 with the mid control set to 400Hz. The final touch was to send the neck out to Pat Wilkins of Wilkins Guitars to get the fingerboard coated with a clear gloss poly finish, similar to that seen on Pedulla basses. This really brought out the growl and singing fretless tone of this bass. It looks great too!
This bass is in excellent condition, no dings, gouges, scratches etc. and sounds amazing! very low action gives it mwah for days. It's an absolute amazing bass, I'm just spending more time nowadays on 4 string.
