It is passive with the stock Lakland/Hanson single coil pickups that sound great (cases have been smoothed & rounded) and a matte black guard. Weight is a comfortable 9.8 lbs; balances great. Plays and sounds great! Bass was originally natural. Candy Tangerine finish by Marty Bell ordered by original owner (I'm the 2nd).
