    For sale: my Lightwave Saber VL 5 Fretless bass. Amber finish on flamed maple top, ash body. Features the Lightwave optical pickup system that uses LED technology to sense the movement of the strings. It's in excellent condition, and plays great with lots of fretless mwaahhh!

    Actual weight is 8 lb. 2 oz. on my digital scale.

    Yes...the string vibrations are "read" by the sensors/ LEDs, which do not influence the vibrating strings like a magnetic pickup would. It's very sophisticated and sounds fantastic!

    Also, the battery pack is new. I had one built, as the old one wasn't holding a charge as long as it should have. It will be good for another 10 years!

    Incidentally, if you ever again find yourself in need of battery packs, just call or email us! More and more players of active basses are telling us they've come to prefer our charger than having to carry a ziplock bag full of 9Volts around in their gigbag!
