Located in Los Angeles! Would trade for an early 70s P bass or Rack gear. 1176, Distressor, Mic pres, etc..

Moon LG5 Custom Larry Graham Signature 5-String

All Navy Blue.

The bass was built in Jan. 2021

The beautiful Moon LG5 features an all-in-one maple neck finished in the body color with a urethane top coat. The neck action is low and the fretwork is excellent. The bass is a real joy to play!

It has 2 Bartolini pickups with the Bartolini NTMB preamp with cut, notch & boost for punchy lows and crisp highs. The tone on this bass is funky and extremely versatile. The preamp allows for a variety of tones from muted Motown to bright slap, and everything in between.

The bridge is the Hipshot Type-A Hi-Mass Brass with a chrome finish. This is a factory upgrade from the original Gotoh bridge. The Hipshot allows for adjustable string spacing.

These basses are custom-order only and take 4-6 months to build and cost well over $4k with shipping and customs. This is a unique opportunity to own a very special, one-of-a-kind bass at a really great price, without the wait.

Awww man. I miss this bass! I am the original owner. I ordered it as a custom build from Bass Japan Direct back in 2021. I can unequivocally say that of the many (many!) basses I have owned, this Moon LG5 is the BEST sounding. It has such an amazing punch. The only reason I got rid of it is bc I'm a wuss. I had a shoulder injury and needed sub-8lb basses, otherwise it would still be my #1. But even at 9.7lb, it balances well and feels really nice. Oh, and I paid well over $4k for it. This is a freaking steal!

GLWTS OP!

(Here is a video Danny Stewart sent me from Japan right before he shipped it)

How is this still for sale? If I were in Cali and not Canada, this would be an instant buy for me. Come to think of it, I don't know if I've ever seen anyone sell a Moon on the used market around here.

Having recently played @600 Ohms LG5, I have been lusting after a Moon ever since. I really wanted the classic white and gold, but Moon is no longer accepting orders. I heavily considered buying this bass, especially since I am in LA. End of the day I went with a 4 stringer from Danny the Bass Hunter because I am 3.5 years into the wait on a Moollon JV and color means a lot to me. This Navy is damn handsome but its just not me.

TLDR: if you want the best damn modern jazz tone and the easiest playing 5 string bass ever made, BUY THIS BASS.
