Very good condition MTD Kingston Saratoga-4 passive bass with upgraded Bartolini USA b-axis pickups.
Beautiful tobacco-burst finish, only blemishes are a couple of very small dings on the headstock and a ding (and a half) on the upper horn. (see pics below)
Michael Tobias’ take on a modern Jazz bass. Zero fret, Buzz Feiten tuning system and MTD’s spectacular asymmetric neck. All custom touches MTD includes on their hand-made basses, included here at a fraction of the cost. Fit and finish is excellent, bass was professionally setup copper-shielded and fret-dressed by Fort Worth’s top luthier.
Bartolini b-axis pickups are humcancelling and with copper shielding, this bass is as quiet as a church-mouse in the most RF unfriendly environments. The b-axis pickups are a completely different animal than Bart’s traditional designs (in a good way, to my ear), much brighter and much more of a vintage, “Fender-ish,” tone. I have the original single-coil pickups that came with this bass and will include in the shipment.
