Really nice bass, I bought this as a backup to my Nordy VPJ5 and it wouldn't be going anywhere unless I needed the funds. I'm amazed on the quality and consistency of Carey's work. Every Nordy I've tried has had exceptional sound and build quality.

This bass is in excellent condition, I don't like to use the term mint but this is as close as it gets. Neck is wonderful, the bass sits perfectly in the mix. If you haven't found a P bass in a five that works for you then you need to try one of these.

Weight is 8.4lbs, ships in a gigbag. Can't take any trades.

Looking for a quick sale so $1900 shipped ground. Paypal confirmed please.

Previous owner's pictures (hope you don't mind!). I can supply some of mine later if required.

awww mannnnnn!!!!! my old bass, I love how everytime it has sold the seller uses my old pictures. This has changed hands like 4 times and I've never been able to jump on it. I have a VPJ5 just like you do Jim, alder/one piece maple neck, 1.81" nut and I love it, but there is something about this bass, its just really "chewy" and I love the nitro smell! man i wish I could grab it, you're not interested in a VJ4 that is decked out are you?

Man, I think I would take this back in a heartbeat, the only thing that is holding me back is the reason I got rid of it, which was the nut width and now I love my new slimmed down neck, but the tone on this one is just something special! Can't have everything I guess.

Thanks for adding the info guys. I did take some pics myself but sonic blue is a hard color to capture and your pics were just a better representation of that than mine!

I'm sure some people are thinking if it's such a great bass why is it changing hands so often and that's a fair question!

I bought it as a backup to my main player and tax time hit me hard. It actually has more growl and bite than my VPJ5 but I like to play over the bridge pickup. If I had been able to keep this I might have added a J pickup but it sounds awesome just as it is.

I hope the next owner is able to give this bass a permanent home, it really deserves it!

it's taking all of my energy not to buy this thing... I just bought a vJ5 and it blows me away. I'm sure this vP5 has to be amazing.

Only reason I sold this to Jim was that I've become really picky with nut width - I'm uncomfortable on "standard" nut width 5-strings and am going pretty much strictly for 1 3/4" now. Otherwise it would still live at my house. Exceptional bass... never heard a P-bass sound as good as this in a mix before.

Does anyone here (see some former owners in here) have a link to some sound clips?

If this was a J, it'd already be gone.
