Fine German Bass, likely dating to the late 1800's. 3/4 size, very dark varnish.
Recently completely restored, all internal repairs redone and sound-post patch. Nice and clean and structurally solid inside. The neck was reset with a shorter string length, and modern neck angle, over-stand and fingerboard projection. Brand new fingerboard, adjustable bridge and endpin.
The bass is very powerful and resonant, a full spectrum sound. Very strong sustain and growl in the low register, and great power and clarity in the high register. The setup is fast and easy on this bass, and it has a very quick response. Makes a great jazz bass, or could be a fantastic orchestral instrument as well.
Measurements:
String Length: 41.75"
Back Length: 43"
Upper Bout: 20.5"
Lower Bout: 25.5"
