I bought this bass a couple of years ago, here on TB. It's a very cool bass, but I also bought another fretless a month later which has turned out to be my 'Holy Grail' of fretless basses... for now. Thus, this one sits and is waiting to be played.
Now here's the info most of you already know...
The SB-1 is a P-Bass redesign from G&L in which they attempted to create a bass that is lighter weight, with less of the bulky "Plank" body ergo from the original... It worked.
Of course, the famous G&L Alnico PUP is as hyper as ever. You can dial-up surprisingly modern tone from this passive configuration, but when you dial down the tone knob you find yourself in traditional P-Bass heaven.
Made in the USofA, this bass is in mint, minimally played condition. Spankin' new set of La Bella Low Tension Flats are on it and it plays like buttah. Everything you'd ever want from that passive, clean, growling fretless vibe.
See the build-out sheet in the images section for all of the custom features added on to this bass. It's definitely not a stock version of the SB-1.
