1981 Peavey T-40 Bass.* Closet classic!* 100% original.* Very little to zero playing wear on this instrument, I have not seen a cleaner one.* There is some patina, it is 33 years old after all.* All functions are go, easy to dial in a huge variety of tones with the innovative control that Peavey built into these basses.* Warning! these basses were not built for girly men, they are heavy, growly, beastly axes.* Those who dare, however, are rewarded with sounds like no other bass out there will produce.* Plus the bass will be around long after you are no longer able to sling it over your shoulder, overbuilt for the road.* Original hard shell case included looks like it never left the house, fresh as the driven snow.*
Now the bad news, the pickguard has split into 2 pieces at the neck pickup.* It is secure and does not vibrate, hardly noticeable from 3ft away.* There is a close up picture where you can see the split if you look hard.* Also, it could use a new set of strings and a setup, there is no twist in the neck at all but the action is high.
