Here's hoping the taxman giveth this year.:)

For sale $900 or trade + cash for the right compact cab under 50lbs.

A unique ESP Custom Shop beauty 1998 J Five closet queen w/ OSHC + key. The quartersawn neck is a modern Fender feel but with narrow spacing like my Ibanez, so like 16.5 - 17mm. Nice slab of rosewood and fret work you'd expect from a Custom Shop instrument. Ash body with nice subtle compound bevelling on the back at the heel and surrounding area. It's a slimmed up J shape that feels sleek and well balanced. About 9.5lbs. It's sporting EMG pickups and 2 band EMG preamp. Very hot and to my ears, aggressive.
Both bass and case are clean and in excellent condition, no play wear to speak of. The photos's don't get it right, this is a Grape Kool Aid trans Purple under a lot of clear coat. Beautiful finish with strong ash graining and an elegant overall appearence. You won't see another like this.
I've re glued a corner on the neck pocket at the lower cutaway where the wood is thinnest. (see photos). A piece about the size of your little finger nail had cracked off. It's only cosmetic and has no effect otherwise. It's neater looking and stronger now. I can't see it ever being a problem except when pulling the neck, and I imagine that is how it was damaged the first time. Just take it easy.:)

We B back.
I've repaired the old repair, much improved if I do say so. Removed, cleaned old glue and re glued properly. It is about the size of my pinky fingernail and would be a structural non issue even if it was missing. You can't see it while playing and it's only noticeable if you're hunting for it with the bass up side down. I got this from Filco and he did not notice it, and I didn't either for a few days after receiving it.

So summing up: This is a gorgeous bass in showroom condition which will kick mighty ass in the right hands. I've dropped my original price by $100 due to this little flaw. $900 shipped in OHSC
