For sale Rare Takamine TB10 bass

Up for sale / trade is a super rare, highly sought after, and nearly mint condition Takamine TB10 bass. This beauty is completely hollow with an arched top and flamed back and sides. This bass can be played either in a traditional bass guitar or upright bass position. The bass comes with a built tube preamp, brass end pin (for standing upright), curved / radiused ebony fingerboard (for bowing / upright vibe), and a big ass / high quality custom hardshell case.

In addition, this bass has had several upgrades above a standard TB10. These upgrades include:

1. Added orchestral upright strings. (The original chrome flatwound strings are included with the package in case you wish to use them.)

2. Added K&K internal bass pickups.

3. Made the K&K pickups the ‘primary’ pickups, moved the original bridge piezo pickup to the auxiliary input of the onboard preamp. (This is easily reversible, to get back to original functionality.)

4. Added ebony bottom pin. Note that this, again, in no way changes the instrument. The package includes the original brass pin, which needs to be removed any time you put the instrument in its case (which is also included). So you get the option to try the ebony pin! I’ve found that on a wooden floor, it enriches the sound of the instrument.

Shipping CONUS on this bass will be around $200, so local pickup is preferred, if possible.

As for trades, the only trades I would consider are for fretted 4 string basses - Moollon, Alleva-Coppola, or Olinto precision or Jazz basses. The right Rob Allen fretted bass might be if interest as well…lemme know wha cha got.
